Q: How long have you been a Photographer and what are your educational bragging rights?
A: I fell in love with capturing dynamic images almost 30 years ago. For the last 4 years I have been visually archiving special moments in time for my clients.
2 Years ago I was fortunate enough to attend a fashion photo workshop with Lara Jade photography. I have been inspired to infuse my portrait sessions with fashion. Who would not want to look like they belong on the cover of a magazine?
Q: What do you love about your craft?
A: I am always excited to be able to visually capture my clients personality and preserve their memories for them.
Q: What have you learned from your clients?
A: My clients are always teaching me how to be more open and to push myself to create visually unique memories. I am always impressed how my clients trust me to capture intimate moments in their life and I seem to always walk away with a new friend.
Q: What do you specialize in?
A: I have tried not to specialize in one type of photography so that I can keep challenging my skills to give clients the best experience that I can. Weddings and family portraits with their pets do have a special place in my heart.
I deeply appreciate being allowed access to a couple getting married. Being able to share in the vulnerable and intimate moments as well as the fun is an amazing honor. Getting to know a couple before hand and finding out what shots are important to them is just as fun to me as being at the wedding.
I am also have two furry daughters and love to photograph them. I like having the ability to be able to capture the how much peoples pets mean to them. Keeping those memories alive are very dear to my heart.
Q: What should clients look for when they are shopping for a photographer?
A: Clients should find a photographer that not only has a style that matches their own but who also has a personality that you enjoy. At a wedding, your photographer is hanging out with you all day during the most important event of your life.
Q: Where do you find inspiration?
A: I try to pull inspiration from the most mundane, like a pattern in a sidewalk, to the most spectacular colors of hand woven fabrics in Morocco.
I have taken great inspiration from album covers from growing up. I believe we have lost a certain amount of the experience of listening to music. I remember buying albums and going home an pouring over the cover art and lyrics and not only connecting with the sound of my favorite bands but also connecting with the visual experience.
Q: What charitable organizations do you feel passionate about?
A: My wife and I love our fur babies and support the SPCA the best we can. We wish every animal four legged and otherwise could find their perfect for them family.
Q: How do you spend your time when not knee deep into your craft?
A: Not knee deep in photography? When is that? I am always looking for new and exciting ways to express myself visually.
